Tikkle Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Tikkle (“Tikkle,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Tikkle website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.

2. Overview of the Services

Tikkle is the daily campus life hub where college students discover opportunities, resources, and connections. The Services provide a platform for students to browse, search, and share information about campus events, job and internship opportunities, free resources, housing and roommate options, carpool opportunities, skill and gig sharing, moving help, second-hand items, student rentals, and similar campus-related content.

The Services do not include private messaging, in-app payments, or direct facilitation of transactions between users.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

To access certain Services, you must create an account. You represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are a verified student of a college or university supported by Tikkle.
  • All information you provide during account creation is accurate, current, and complete.

You agree to maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and be responsible for all activity under your account. Tikkle may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

4. User Content

“User Content” means any content you submit through the Services, including event details, listings, descriptions, images, and other information.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting User Content, you grant Tikkle a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, distribute, and display the content within the Services.

You are solely responsible for User Content you submit. You agree that User Content:

  • Is accurate and not misleading.
  • Does not violate any law, regulation, or third-party rights.
  • Does not include prohibited content (see Section 5).

Tikkle may remove User Content at its discretion and without notice.

5. Content Guidelines and Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • Post content that is false, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, abusive, or discriminatory.
  • Post prohibited material, such as illegal content or material infringing intellectual property rights.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or institution.
  • Use the Services for unlawful purposes or to harass others.
  • Circumvent platform safeguards or manipulate ranking or discovery features.

Tikkle reserves the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Use of Services

The Services are intended for information discovery and sharing within campus communities. You may use the Services to:

  • Browse and search for campus events, opportunities, and resources.
  • Submit information and opportunities relevant to your campus.
  • Filter or sort content based on your preferences and location.

You may not extract data, scrape content, or use automated tools to access the Services without express permission.

7. No Direct Interaction or Transactions

Tikkle does not include private messaging, direct user-to-user communication tools, in-app payment processing, escrow services, or transaction facilitation.

If a post includes contact information or reference to external communication or payment channels, any interactions occur entirely off the Services and are between users independently.

Tikkle does not guarantee, monitor, or mediate interactions or agreements made off the platform.

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or resources. Tikkle does not control these third-party resources and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or content. Your use of third-party resources is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without any warranty of any kind. Tikkle disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of information, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tikkle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Services. Tikkle’s total liability for all claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed $100 USD or the minimum amount required by applicable law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tikkle and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of:

  • Your use of the Services.
  • Your User Content.
  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Suspension and Termination

Tikkle may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination, your right to access the Services will immediately cease.

13. Changes to These Terms

Tikkle may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the Services or email. Your continued use of the Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
